S-Paramics is a micro-simulation traffic modelling package which aids the assessment of traffic engineering and transport planning projects. The package assesses the performance of networks based on the assignment of individual vehicles. As common with most micro-simulation models, the visual presentation of networks (both large and small) is a key benefit of the software. S-Paramics is widely used about the United Kingdom and Australasia.
Flow has used S-Paramics for a wide range of applications, including:
- Assessing the design of the Manukau Bus Interchange and Lot 59 development and immediate surrounding road network
- Assessing the downstream effects upon the state highway network following the opening of the SH18 Hobsonville Deviation and SH16 Extension projects
- Assessing the performance of the Auckland Airport Domestic Terminal pick up and drop off area
- Development of a model to assess the cumulative effects of a series of proposed upgrades along State Highway 1 through Whangarei
