Who We Are

Flow Transportation Specialists are one of New Zealand’s premier transport planning and traffic engineering consultancies.
Flow was founded in 2005 by Angie Crafer and Bronwyn Coomer-Smit.  They were soon joined by Ian Clark, and Terry Church was promoted to be the fourth director in 2023.

Our vision is “to shape people’s transport choices towards more sustainable outcomes”.

This means:

• We promote enduring outcomes that create liveable communities
• We care about people’s health and safety
• We influence key decision makers, the public, clients, staff, and colleagues
• We actively understand the future needs of travel, our clients and stakeholders, including new transport and travel technologies

Flow’s Philosophies

Flow has three key philosophies:

• We want to help achieve safer, healthier, more environmentally friendly, prosperous and social communities while increasing accessibility for all, and making New Zealand an even better place to live.
• Through our work we will encourage integrated land use and transport planning to reduce vehicle trips and trip lengths and promote healthier forms of travel.
• We will provide a happy and rewarding work environment by valuing staff contributions, providing staff with opportunities to be involved in varied and interesting projects, and ensuring support to develop their careers.
